Onshore Oil & Gas Production Operator

Job Purpose
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of wellhead valves and associated equipment to ensure optimal oil and gas production. The operator will monitor and record well pressures and status, perform regular inspections, and adjust valves and equipment as necessary to prevent damage and maintain production. The role of the Onshore Oil and Gas Production Operator is vital in ensuring that the company’s oil and gas production goals are met in a safe and sustainable manner.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Operate and maintain wellhead valves and associated equipment to ensure safe and efficient oil and gas production.
2. Monitor and record well pressures and status to ensure optimal production and to prevent equipment damage.
3. Perform regular inspections of wellhead valves and associated equipment to identify and troubleshoot any issues.
4. Follow established safety procedures and protocols at all times.
5. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report equipment status and resolve any issues.
6. Respond to alarms and emergency situations in a timely and appropriate manner.
7. Adjust wellhead valves and associated equipment as necessary to maintain optimal production and prevent equipment damage.
8. Follow established procedures for shutting down and restarting wells as required.
9. Keep accurate and detailed production and maintenance records.
10. Collaborate with other departments and teams as required to ensure efficient and safe production.
11. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wellhead valves and associated equipment.
12. Work in compliance with all company policies, procedures and safety regulations.
13. Assist with the identification and implementation of process improvements.
14. Ability to work in a rotating shift schedule.
15. Strong mechanical aptitude.
16. The scope of duties and responsibilities may be subject to expansion in accordance with the requirements of the immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Education
Any technical diploma.

Experience
Prior experience in a similar field of operations is not a mandatory requirement, but would be considered an asset and an advantage.

Additional Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver’s license.

Work rotation
1 Week On /1 Week Off
