Buyer

Job Purpose:

Buyer shall be responsible for preparing the tendering strategy for low-medium complexity purchase orders/contracts and to process requisitions for goods and services to meet budgeted cost, quantity and quality requirements in accordance with Sonangol Iraq procedures.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD COVER:

·Preparing tendering strategy for low-medium complexity purchase orders/contracts
·Provide necessary supervision and control, contractual and commercial sections of the tender package and compile the full tender package.
·Ensure that contractual terms and conditions are defined in compliance with Sonangol Iraq Procurement procedures & requirements.
·Preparing purchase orders/contracts requirements in conformance with all applicable laws and in compliance with Sonangol Iraq procurement policies & procedures
·Maintain confidentiality & provide necessary supervision and control, contractual and commercial evaluations and required negotiations of tenders received and formulate recommendation during the procurement process.
·Manage all the Contracting phases in coordination with the Requesting Unit and other involved functions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

•The job holder must be educated to Tertiary level, with less than 3 years contracts experience in the up-stream process and oil & gas projects.
•CIPS type qualification would be preferred, along with previous experience working on SAP software within GCC Countries.
