Reservoir Engineer

Sonangol P&P Iraq

Responsibilities:

• Deliver fact-based and compelling engineering presentations to senior management,
encompassing technical data, reservoir analysis, economic evaluations, and insights
into future asset development and associated value.
• Foster consensus and collaboration across diverse business entities, effectively
communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
• Leverage your comprehensive technical expertise in petroleum engineering, drawing
from your firsthand field-level operational experiences.
• Evaluate technical data, including data-room assessments, integrated field
development plans, and reservoir evaluations.
• Efficiently organize and manage reservoir and production data, ensuring accurate
documentation.
• Conduct, research, and analyze reservoir studies, overseeing subcontracted studies
and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Lead and contribute to integrated reservoir simulation studies, from data analysis and
analytical studies to numerical simulation, including model construction, history
matching, calibration, and prediction.
• Apply advanced simulation modeling techniques, such as fracture modeling,
equation of state (EOS) modeling, compositional modeling, and coupling of surface
and sub-surface dynamics, as well as complex well and smart completion strategies.

• Reservoir engineering
• Reservoir EOS, dynamic modelling (heavy oil , carbonates)
• Field development planning (onshore)
• Contracting : establishing scope of work, QA/QC
• Proficient on Petrel, Eclipse, PVTsim, Petex IPM suite (MBAL, Prosper)
• Data Management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in reservoir or petroleum engineering, geology, or physics; a
Master’s or Ph.D. is advantageous.
• Minimum of 7 years of extensive experience in reservoir simulation, with a strong
record of specialized training and practical application.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, with clear
communication skills across various specialties including reservoir characterization,
geological modeling, petrophysical evaluation, core analysis, reservoir management,
and production engineering.
• Proficiency in standard vendor applications for pre and post-processing of
simulation data, as well as expertise in Assisted History Matching software and
workflows.
